Speeding up the Implementation of A1 Road and Via Baltica Projects

Drawings to Draw Attention to Traffic Safety Issues

Six bus stop shelters have been decorated with traffic safety related drawings in various Lithuanian districts. The colours and message of the drawings aims to focus the attention of road users to traffic safety issues and to encourage them to behave responsibly on the streets and roads.

The Second Stage of State Road Lighting Upgrading Underway

SE Lithuanian Road Administration has signed four contracts with two suppliers. According to the contracts, the existing sodium vapor lamps shall be replaced by new LED type lighting during the period of 2020–2021. The total value of the signed contracts is 820 thousand Euros, with 4,526 items to be replaced.

Additional Funds for State Gravel Road Paving

The Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications (later – the Road Administration) has been allocated 8.9 million euros for asphalt paving of nine state gravel road sections. Based on the currently available funds, 1,470 km of gravel roads will be asphalt paved, i.e. ca 20 km more than it was informed in the beginning of June.

The winners of the drawing competition Traffic Safety 2020 that has been initiated by the Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications (later–the Road Administration) have been announced. The six winners of the competition represent various regions,  institutions and age groups.

First Reconstruction Stage of Islandijos Road Completed

Reconstruction works of the main road A1 Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda section from km 100.47 to km 101.79, which coincides with the first reconstruction stage of Islandijos road (orig. Islandijos plentas) have been completed. The works in this stage were performed from the Kleboniškis bridge to the Sargėnai intersection.
