Reconstruction of the section of the main road outside Kaunas near the village of Giraitės (A1 Vilnius-Kaunas-Klaipėda from 102.90 to 107.00 km) has eliminated one of the most dangerous single level crossings in the national road network. Traffic on the newly built infrastructure was opened on 7 June this year.

The Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) announced a public procurement for the preparation of technical work projects and supervision of the execution of the projects for the overhaul of the section of the A14 Vilnius-Utena road from Molėtai to Utena.

The Public Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration announced a public procurement for the reconstruction of the section of the main road A5 Kaunas-Marijampolė-Suvalkai (“Via Baltica”) from 72.50 km to 79 km. Following successful public procurement procedures, it is expected that the contract with the contractor will be concluded in the third quarter of this year.

The winners of the drawing competition “Road Safety 2022” initiated by the Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) have been announced: Fifth grade pupil Austėja Pužauskaitė of Šakiai School “Varpas”, seventh grade pupil Grantas Grudzinskas of Butrimonys gymnasium of the Alytus Region, first grade pupil Kamilė Savickaitė of “Versmes” gymnasium of Taurage region, fourth grade pupil Ugnė Barakauskaitė of Žemaičiu Naumiestis School – kindergarten of the Šilute Region, eighth grade pupil Marija Šmakotinaitė of Panevežys “Šaltinis” Progymnasium, and a pupil Nika Pyrčak of the Visaginas Education Centre.

The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) is organising the competition “Traffic Safety in Communities 2022-2023” (hereinafter – the Competition) and invites communities in Lithuanian villages and towns to register and actively participate in the implementation of traffic safety projects.

A public procurement (Procurement) has been announced for the pre-design solutions to reconstruct the national road of state significance No. 130 Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus section from 11.60 to 31.10 km.

The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Road Administration) together with its partners – the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and Lithuanian Road Police Service – organizes the national competition of the Lithuanian schoolchildren “Save Young Lives on the Roads”.

During the chairmanship of the Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Road Administration) of the Baltic Road Association (BRA), the main priorities and directions were approved to be implemented by the Technical Committees and Working Groups on strategy, planning, ITS, road research, traffic safety, road maintenance.

The lowest ever determined number of fatalities per year was registered in Lithuania and eight other European Union (EU) Member States (Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta, Poland, Portugal and Sweden). Such data were published by the European Commission after having assessed the preliminary data for 2021 of road fatalities.

The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) has announced public procurement for the reconstruction of the middle bridge over the river Neris, which is called the A. Meškinis bridge, located near the completed bridge (in the section between the kilometres 99.03 and 100.47 of the highway A1 Vilnius – Kaunas – Klaipėda).

On April 6, the Traffic Safety Day is commemorated in Lithuania. On that occasion, we invite the residents and guests of Vilnius city to refresh their knowledge about the road safety rules at the event Esu saugus ir saugantis kitus (eng. Safe Myself and Saving Others) organised by the State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration), that will take place on the 3rd of April, Sunday, in the Cathedral Square of the capital. During this event, the visitors will be invited to participate in educational activities and to get a closer look at the work of special services.

Today, traffic was launched over the newly built bridge in Kaunas, that spans across the river Neris (in the section between the kilometres 99.29 and 100.47 of the highway A1 Vilnius – Kaunas – Klaipėda).
