Use of tyre rubber – in asphalt mixturesThe agreement on creating asphalt mixtures suitable for Lithuanian climatic conditions using recycled tyre rubber and determining their performance characteristics in order to assess the potential for further use has entered into force. In order to find a technological solution for the marketing of recycled tyre rubber products in asphalt mixtures for national roads, Lithuanian Road Administration, AB (hereinafter – the Road Administration) is conducting innovative research.

Preparing to reconstruct the road of national importance for national defence in Švenčionys DistrictIn Švenčionys District, near Pabradė Polygon, almost 6 km section of the regional road No 4415 Pabradė–Meškerinė (from 5.3 to 11.1 km) is being prepared for overhaul. The Lithuanian Road Administration has launched the public procurement for the preparation of the technical detailed design, supervision of the project implementation and execution of the works for the overhaul of this road section. It is planned that, following the successful completion of the public procurement procedures, the project will be implemented during the period 2023–2024.

Lifelong learning principle holds true in developing road safety skillsIn 2022, Lithuanian Road Administration, AB (hereinafter – the Road Administration) has reached the audience of more than 70,000 people through direct communication projects in the field of road safety education.

The Road Administration will continue the major infrastructure development works started in 2023, with other new projects planned to improve traffic safetyIn order to improve the infrastructure of the roads of national importance, according to the 2023 Action Plan of the public limited liability company Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – Road Administration), in accordance with the lists of priority queues and taking into account the available funding, it is planned to repair/reconstruct 300 km of roads of national importance in the course of this year, asphalting 110 km of gravel roads, repairing 27 bridges, and installing other traffic safety measures (intersections, crossings, pedestrian crossing points, wildlife protection systems etc.).

Lithuanian Road Administration became a public limited liability companyThe State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) was reorganised into a public limited liability company. The new legal form will enter into force on 2 January 2023. After the reorganisation, all its shares will continue to be owned by the State. The Road Administration will also remain on the list of enterprises important for national security, while roads of national importance will remain on the list of installations and assets important for national security and will continue to be owned as state property.
