Winners of Amateur Road Safety Awareness Contest Announced

The winners of the amateur road safety awareness contest organized by SE Lithuanian Road Administration (later – the Road Administration) have been announced.

The selected winners of group I (12-18 year-old authors) were video clips Save yourself  and When Driving Don‘t Use Your Phone! and those of group III (26 and older): video clips 3 NOT Rules  and Bicycle Track is not a Dance-Floor.

“We are happy about each video clip. This competition demonstrated not only the authors’ creativity, but traffic safety problems young people are facing these days. The main topics of video clips focused on traffic safety of pedestrians, bicyclists and e-scooter riders, the dangers of listening to music while riding a scooter and not wearing a helmet, safe speed. We sincerely hope that those involved in the creation of video clips as well as their friends, close people, managers and other target audience will behave with responsibility and will encourage other road users to follow their example”, said the Director of the Road Administration Remigijus Lipkevičius.

In total 8 video clips, out of which 4 were created by authors and 4 by teams, took part in the competition that was announced on 6 April, Traffic Safety Day, in Lithuania. The key criteria of evaluation were their suggestibility, originality, verisimilitude, clarity of idea and content as well as artistic expression, compliance with the Road Traffic Regulations, etc. Representatives from the

Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Lithuanian Road Police, the Lithuanian Centre of Non-Formal Education and the Road Administration took part in the evaluation process.

According to the competition rules, valuable prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competition until 1 October 2021. Special prizes of the Road Administration will be given to other authors of all video clips submitted for the competition.
