The traditional competition “Road Safety 2022” is announced

2022 03 30

The State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter – the Road Administration) announces the traditional drawing competition ‘Road Safety 2022’. As in previous years, works by six winners of the competition will be used to decorate the pavilions of bus stops. At the end of the competition, they will be selected by the place of residence of the participants who won the competition. As has been the case in the past, students attending educational and training institutions, members of non-governmental organisations, and communities are invited to participate in the competition, that covers the whole Lithuania.

The aim of this competition is to draw the attention of road users to safe traffic on our roads and streets, that is, to encourage every person involved in traffic to act responsibly and attentively, to remind pedestrians of the need to wear reflectors, to remind car users of the importance of seat belts, and not only treat each other with respect, but also to protect the health and lives of everyone.

“The competition “Road Safety 2022”, which is held for the third year in a row, once again invites to promote a safer traffic environment in our country in a creative and purposeful manner through artistic means. Such a form of traffic safety promotion will help the contestants themselves to get involved in all this in an interesting way and will allow additional drawing of attention of other road users to the visually presented Road Traffic Rules. At the same time, the bus waiting pavilions will be also renewed in a colourful way”, – says Remigijus Lipkevičius, Director of the Road Administration.

The main criteria for evaluating the future drawing works: their consistency with the objective and thematic of the competition, originality of the idea and form, quality of the works, possibilities for practical use, etc. All visual content conveyed in the works must comply with the requirements of the Road Traffic Rules.

Everyone wishing to participate in the competition is invited to register for it by March 31 of this year. The participants will be registered by their place of residence. Persons, having registered to participate in the competition, will have to submit their works by April 29 of this year. The evaluation of the works will take place by May 6 this year, and the winners will be announced on May 13. The authors of six selected works in the competition and coordinators will be rewarded with letters of thanks and with the prizes established by the Road Administration. And the rest of the participants will receive symbolic gifts from the Road Administration.

Until the end of October this year, the drawings of the winners of the competition will be transferred to the pavilions of bus stops by the place of residence of the winners of the competition.
