The Road Administration announces the beginning of the drawing competition “Safe traffic on the road 2023”

2023 03 13

The joint stock company the Lithuanian Road Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Road Administration) announces the beginning of the annual drawing competition “Safe traffic on the road 2023”. The works of six winners of competition will be redrawn in the pavilions of bus stops, which, at the end of the competition, will be selected in accordance with the place of residence of winners. Students of education establishments, members of non-governmental organizations, communities may take part in the competition.

The objective of this competition is to develop safe habits of each participant of the traffic; to encourage each person taking part in the traffic to act carefully and attentively, to remember the mandatory security measures: safety belts, correctly attached reflectors, bright-coloured vests, etc., and to think about their responsibility for themselves and other participants of traffic.

“The drawing competition “Safe traffic on the road” that has been implemented for several years in a row, attracts a lot of attention and inclusion every year and shows once again that the competences of safe traffic may be strengthened in an original manner, i.e. by using creativity”, said Aivaras Vilkelis, the Director of the Department of Planning and Innovations of Transport Infrastructure of the Road Administration.

The principle criteria of evaluation of future drawings are the following: the compliance with the objective and topic of the competition, the originality of the idea and form, the quality of works, the possibilities of practical use, etc. The entire visual content of works must meet the requirements of Road Traffic Regulations.

The contestants are invited for registration until the 7th of April of this year. The registration will take place according to the contestants’ place of residence. The contestants will have to submit their works before the 12th of May of this year. The evaluation of works will take place until the 19th of May, and the winners will be announced on the 31st of May.

Works sent for the competition will not be returned. The works of contestants will be used for the purpose of educational safe traffic activity (posters, catalogues, calendars, postcards, information desks, video reports, public information measures, social networks, website of Road Administration, etc.). Authors of selected six works, as well as coordinators will receive special mentions and prizes established by the Road Administration, and the remaining contestants will receive symbolic gifts of the Road Administration.
