The procurement for the selection of the service provider, which will be responsible for carrying out expropriation of land of the section of the road No 130 Kaunas-Priena, has been announced
The procurement for the preparation and implementation of the project for the expropriation for public needs of the land of the section between the kilometres 11.6 and 31.1 of the national road No Kaunas-Prienai-Alytus of national importance has been announced.
According to Remigijus Lipkevičius, Director of the State Enterprise Lithuanian Road Administration, the purpose of this procurement is to start the procedures of the expropriation of land for public needs according to the approved special plan. After the reconstruction of this section, the issues of traffic safety, traffic management and of the quality of the road surface will be addressed.
According to the approved special plan, 274 plots of land fall within the lane of the road that is being reconstructed (121 plots of land in Kaunas district and 153 plots of land in Prienai district), from which parts of the plots of land, required for the reconstruction of the road, have to be redeemed. The width of the existing lane of the road, that has been formed, is 40 m. The total area of the plot of land, that is being expropriated for the public needs, is 41.9 ha (in Kaunas district – 14.59 ha, in Prienai district – 27.33 ha).
The plan for the implementation of the provisions of the programme of the eighteenth Government of the Republic of Lithuania provides for the reconstruction of the section between Kaunas and Prienai of the national road No 130 Kaunas-Prienai-Alytus of national importance.
After the performance of the procedures for the expropriation of the land for public needs, the preparation of the technical project for the performance of the reconstruction of this section of the road will be announced. Following the preparation of the technical project, a public procurement tender procedure for construction works will be announced. It is planned that the reconstruction of the road could be carried out in two stages. During the stage 1, the expropriation of the land for public needs is planned (by the end of 2023) and the road reconstruction design work (2024). During the stage 2, contract work is planned in 2024-2026.
The price of the road reconstruction work will depend on the selected road reconstruction alternative, technical solutions, and the public procurements for all stages of the reconstruction work.
According to the data of 2019, the average annual daily traffic in the section between the kilometres 11.6 and 13.85 of the road No 130 Kaunas–Prienai–Alytus is 11.5 thousand of vehicles per day (per 24 hours). It is one of the busiest sections of the national roads in Lithuania.
