2021 03 30

SE Lithuanian Road Administration (later – the Road Administration) invites service providers to take part in the market consultation on the reconstruction of state main road A14 Vilnius–Utena section from km  21.50 to km 39.20.

According to the Director of the Road Administration Remigijus Lipkevičius, service providers may give their comments on the technical specifications of the project until 12 April. The received tenders and comments will be evaluated.

After market consultations a tender on the preparation of the reconstruction project and its implementation supervision of the above-mentioned road section will be invited. It is planned to publish the tender in the second quarter of this year.

It is planned to perform works on road A14 Vilnius–Utena in stages. The first stage to be reconstructed is from km 21.50 km to km 39.20.

The last works on this state main road A14 Vilnius–Utena section from km 16.00 to 21.50 km were performed in 2019–2020. The road was reconstructed into a four-lane road; two grade-separated intersections with national roads, pedestrian viaducts were constructed; environmental protection and traffic safety measures were implemented and engineering networks were reconstructed.

Main road Vilnius–Utena is one of the key transport arteries of the country leading from the capital city to surrounding municipalities. It has been one of the most problematic roads in Lithuania with deteriorating and deformed cementconcrete pavement causing huge danger to traffic safety.
