To attain the set ends, almost 46 km of roads are under reconstruction on the Lithuanian-Latvian border areas.

The project is being implemented in cooperation between the Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Latvian Ministry of Transport, represented by SJSC Latvian State Roads.

In 2014–2020 nine million euros of the European Regional Development Fund were allocated for Interreg V-A Latvian and Lithuanian programme project implementation, out of which 4.5 million euros for Lithuania.
