2019 04 02

The Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications (Road Administration) announces a drawings‘ competition Traffic Safety on the Road. Six selected drawings of the winners of the competition will be copied on the bus stop pavilions. It is for the first time that students from all regional educational and training institutions, non-governmental organizations and various communities of the country are invited to take part in the competition.

The competition aims to attract the attention of road users to the significance of traffic safety, to encourage all road users to behave on the roads and streets with responsibility, to respect each other, not to exceed permitted and safe driving speed limit.

Everybody wants to live in a safe, beautiful and cosy atmosphere. Therefore, this competition aims not only to focus on traffic safety, but also to encourage communities to create a cosier environment. Some pavilions at the bus stops had been built long time ago and, therefore, have lost their aesthetical image. Traffic safety images depicted on pavilions will remind people who are waiting at the bus stops about traffic regulations and will encourage them to save the environment where they live, says the Director of the Road Administration Vitalijus Andrejevas.

The works presented to the competition will be evaluated by the Commission comprised of the competition organizers and invited guests. The main evaluation criteria are relevance, originality of idea and form, artistic and technical solution, quality of works, practical application, creativity, topicality of the presented information.

The competition will take place in several stages. Those who would like to take part in the competition are invited to register by e-mail until 14 April 2019. Registration will be held by the place of residence. The registered will have to submit their works until 12 May 2019. Works will be evaluated until 24 May and pictures will be drawn on the bus stop pavilions in the vicinity to the place of residence of the winners.
